The Luisen Church in Berlin-Charlottenburg is a fairly small church building with 15 rows of seats, yet it the reverberation timereverberation timeRT60 is the time required for reflections of a direct sound to decay by 60 dB below the level of the direct sound….

is above four seconds. After many years using a rather improvised sound system, the church approached
and asked for a new complete system. Besides just new loudspeakers, the new system should be practically invisible, be simple and failsafe to operate and suit the church's budget.
Together with the church and the architect,
developed a system consisting of two Duran-Audio Intellivox V90 which were integrated into the song displays. Unlike conventional passive line-arrays, these loudspeakers aim down by 4° and thus allow straight and flush mounting.
A custom made user interface was built for the church; a stainless steel panel with five faders which can be assigned to any channel of the Digitool MX DSP. The DSP also has an automixer function for higher feedback stability.
The five faders and an on/off button are the only user-accessible controls; this prevents the common errors with conventional board mixers.
The system was sold, installed, programmed and tuned by
and finally provides higher and feedback-safe levels and intelligibility throughout the church.
